Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 September 2026
These terms explain the rules for using the GreenLight Theory app and website. By using GreenLight Theory you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
GreenLight Theory is provided by Jamal Aidid, trading as GreenLight Theory, based in the United Kingdom. Contact: support@greenlighttheory.co.uk.
2. What GreenLight Theory is
GreenLight Theory is a revision app that helps learners prepare for the UK car theory test in English, Somali and Arabic. This product includes the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) revision question bank.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has given permission for the reproduction of Crown copyright material. DVSA does not accept responsibility for the accuracy of the reproduction.
GreenLight Theory is an independent product. It is not endorsed or approved by DVSA, and using it does not replace the Highway Code or lessons with a qualified driving instructor.
3. Who can use it
GreenLight Theory is designed for learner drivers aged 16 and over. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before making any purchase.
4. Your account
When you first open the app we create an anonymous account for you. You can delete your account and data at any time in the app: Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Some features may require payment. Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and the price is shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. This does not affect your legal rights as a consumer.
6. Drivo, our AI tutor
Drivo uses artificial intelligence and can make mistakes. Always check the Highway Code and the DVSA explanation for each question. Please don't include personal information in your questions to Drivo. See our Privacy Policy for how questions are handled.
7. No guarantee of passing
We work hard to help you learn, but we can't guarantee that you will pass your theory test.
8. Using GreenLight Theory fairly
GreenLight Theory is for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not:
- copy, extract, scrape, publish, share or resell the questions, explanations, translations, audio or other content;
- try to copy, reverse engineer or interfere with the app or its services;
- misuse Drivo or try to get around usage limits;
- use offensive or misleading display names on leaderboards or challenges.
9. Content and copyright
The DVSA revision question bank is Crown copyright material, reproduced under licence from DVSA. Our own content, including Drivo's explanations, lessons, study tips, audio and the design of the app, belongs to GreenLight Theory.
10. Changes to the service
We may update, change or withdraw features to improve the app or to keep it accurate and secure. We aim to keep GreenLight Theory available, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to digital content that is faulty or not as described, and these terms do not affect them. GreenLight Theory is for private use, so we are not responsible for business losses, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using GreenLight Theory at any time and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll show the new date at the top of this page, and highlight significant changes in the app.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring claims in your local courts.
